Julius Edward Lindsay Griffith (Jr.) was born in Vancouver in 1912, and became an engraver (wood) and painter. He studied at the Vancouver School of Art, but did not apparently receive a diploma.

He had a duo show with K.R.H. Roberts at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1933, and a solo exhibition in 1934.

He later studied in London, England before returning to Canada and exhibiting mostly in the East.

He showed work in a number of the Vancouver Art Gallery annual B.C. Artists' exhibitions, and with the B.C. Society of Fine Arts in 1941.

He exhibited two paintings with the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 1947.
