Phillip (also Philip) Hennell Amsden

October 9 1904 - January 30 1992

Phillip Hennell Amsden was born in London, England. He married Grace Cynthia Maude Clayton, the daughter of Lt. Col. Henry Edward Gilbert Clayton, in Oak Bay on October 27 1934. She was from Guernsey in the Channel Islands. They had four children.

He exhibited in the B.C. Artists exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery from 1939 to 1945. He was living in Nelson at the time.

He exhibited with the Island Arts and Crafts Society in 1937.

He exhibited a pastel with the B.C. Society of Fine Arts in their annual exhibition in 1942.

Amsden died in Comox in 1992, his occupation noted as "farmer."
