Original pen & ink drawing
July 2005

Image size 8.5" high by 11.0" wide (215 mm by 280 mm)

INTRODUCTION

This is a view up a lane in the Strathcona District of Vancouver - one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city. The mix of different building, roof, and fence styles was intriguing. The power and telephone poles reminded me of totem poles along a shoreline.

The drawing was exhibited at the Architectural Institute of B.C. in the two person exhibition VIEWPOINTS, September 8 - October 20, 2005. The drawing was published in the Vancouver Sun on September 10, 2005; in the Fall 2005 issue of architectureBC; and on the club card advertising the exhibition.

It is drawn with a Pilot DR pigment ink pen, on architectural trace paper. The drawing is archivally matted with acid free 4-ply matteboard and liner, and framed in a 16" x 18" metal exhibition frame. It is available for purchase at $300.00 (three hundred) Canadian.
