McGregor Hone was born in Prince Albert SK. He exhibited his work in the 1944 and 1945 B.C. Artists exhibitions and the 1944 and 1945 British Columbia At Work exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery. In 1962 he was living in Regina SK.

Hone died in Lumsden, Saskatchewan in 2007.
