Growth Study: Crowding / Red Shift
Original Pen & Ink drawing issued 2009
Image size 8" high by 10" wide (200 mm by 250 mm)
(Low resolution image illustrated)
This one of a series of drawings that I did while
thinking about non-representational ideas. In this case a circle,
becoming a sphere, generates 5 new spheres. Two spheres of
this "generation", with a colour shift from the first, generate new
spheres. This quickly gets out of control if more than one sphere is
allowed to create, as per branch on the right.
The drawing in done in pigment pen and ink and Prismacolour pencil on
110lb. bright white acid free paper from Canada. It is archivally
matted in Crescent 1607 4-ply matte, in an OPUS metal exhibition frame.
