EUCALYPTUS, BARCLAY PARK
Original pen & ink drawing
June 2006
Image size 8" high by 12" wide (200 mm by 300 mm)
(Cropped low resolution image illustrated)
INTRODUCTION
This eucalyptus tree is thriving in the shelter of Barclay Heritage Park
in the West End of Vancouver, B.C. I wanted to draw the tree for some time,
but the light was never right. One morning as I walked by it on the way
to work the early sunshine was shining through the leaves in just the
right pattern of light and shadow.
The drawing is part of the Transient Moorage series of drawings done in 2006.
I consider this one of the best drawings I have completed.
It is drawn with Pilot DR pigment ink pens and india ink brush pen on
translucent vellum. The drawing is in a 12" x 16" OPUS black metal
exhibition. It is available for $1,000.00 (one thousand) Canadian.
