PRIZES PRESENTED TO ART STUDENTS

Many Scholarships Presented at Closing Exercises of School

     Scholarships and prizes for successful students at the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts were presented this afternoon at the school closing by Bernard McEvoy.
     Winners of scholarships were: Second year students - B.C. Institute of Architects, $50, Miss Ada Currie; J. Fyfe Smith, $50, Miss Sybil Hall (sic); Vancouver Exhibition Association, $25, Fred Amess. First year students: Vancouver Exhibition Association, $50, Miss Madge Farmer, Miss Ruby Cook, $25; B.C. Society of Fine Arts, $25, Miss Alice Sharpe.
     Prize winners among second year students were: H. Mortimer Lamb for composition, $10, Miss Maud Jensen; Palette and Chisel Club, for modelling, $15, Miss Katherine Harrison; Mrs. Jonathan Rogers, costume design, $15, Miss Margaret Corry; Girls' Apparel Shop, costume design, $10, Miss Beatrice Lennie; bronze medal presented by Vancouver Branch, Canadian Women's Press Club, for Canadian Confederation poster, Miss Margaret Williams. First year students - Trades and Labor Council, for design, $10, Miss Betty Weston; Clarke & Stuart, general proficiency, Miss Rowena Gross; Palette and Chisel Club, for modelling, $10, Miss Alice Sharpe.
