Portrait by Maud Rees Sherman

Betty Weston was the daughter of the well-known artist W.P. Weston. She was born in England, but moved to Vancouver with her parents at the age of two months.

She was an early student of the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts, joining the school in 1927. She passed second year classes, but not third year, and did not graduate from the school, apparently due to health problems.

She exhibited her artwork in Vancouver with the B.C. Society of Fine Arts in 1929.

An oil portrait of Betty by artist William F. McGregor was exhibited in Victoria with the Island Arts and Crafts Society in 1927.

Weston married Michael Jenner Parson on October 19 1946 in Vancouver. The marriage certificate noted that he was born in England, a 27-year old owner of a summer resort, resident at Forest House, Ewing's Landing. May was noted as 32-years old, a Secretary at the School Board, living at 1419 Dogwood Avenue in Vancouver. Her age noted on this form conflicts with the birthdate of 1909, she would nominally have been 37 when she married.
