Gordon Robert Couling

Gordon R. Couling was born in Guelph, Ontario. He graduated from the Ontario College of Art.

He exhibited his work in the 1944 and 1945 B.C. Artists exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery. He was listed as a Sergeant in the army in 1944. He was living in Vancouver in 1945. In 1945 he had more work in the British Columbia At Work exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Couling returned to Ontario in 1948 to teach, from which he retired in 1974. He was an architectural historian, and a stained glass artist.
