Mashel Teitelbaum was born in Saskatoon SK. He had a solo exhibition of abstract paintings at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1948.

He exhibited in the Seattle Art Museum's annual Northwest Artists exhibition in 1949.

He showed work in the 1949 B.C. Artists exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery. He was living in Vancouver, then studied in San Francisco in 1950-51. Afterwards he lived in Europe 1951-1960, before returning to live in Toronto ON.
