Dorothy L. Pullen was born in Nesbit, Manitoba. She exhibited artwork at the Vancouver Exhibition in 1930 and 1932, as a member of the Vancouver Sketch Club.

She married Clement Harold McDonald, a steel contractor, in 1942. She was living at 1565 West 16th Avenue, Vancouver.

She died a widow in West Vancouver in 1988 at the age of 90, occupation noted as "housewife - at home."
