Ulrich Henke was born in Braunschweig, Germany. He exhibited work at the Vancouver Art Gallery in the annual B.C. Artists exhibitions from 1936 to 1939, and in 1947, 1949, and 1953. It was noted that the artist was living in Cloverdale.

Henke died in Murrayville in 1978 at the age of 82. His occupation was noted as "Farming - chicken, bulbs."
