Ralph Arthur Hanslow

R.A. Hanslow was born in Chichester England, and came to Canada with his parents as a baby. He exhibited work in the 1949 Stanley Park in Pictures exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

He took classes at the Vancouver School of Art, and graduated from the University of Washington in 1950.

In 1950 he showed work with the B.C. Society of Artists and in the annual B.C. Artists exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery He was living in Vancouver at the time.

In 1954 Canadian Art Magazine noted that he was the director of the Vancouver Painting in the Park project in 1953, and could be contacted at 143 West 10th Ave. The project was sponsored by the FCA.

B.C. Vital Statistics on-line lists the death of Hanslow in Vancouver in 1958 at the age of 39.
