Myra E. DeBeck was born in Vernon. She graduated from McGill University in 1911 with a BA in economics and an MA in 1913. She had artwork in the B.C. Artists exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery from 1941 to 1947.

She had work in the Federation of Canadian Artists Third Traveling Exhibition in 1947. She was living in Vernon.

Debeck moved to Victoria where she died in 1979 at the age of 89.
