R.A. Vicker was one of the earliest artists to exhibit in Vancouver. He exhibited in
the Association's First Annual Exhibition in 1890. The two
paintings were on loan from the Hardiman Gallery, so it is possible that Vicker was
not a local artist, particularly since the paintings are of England.
