Nancy Nelles

Nancy Gilman Nelles was born in Vancouver. She was a student at the short-lived BC College of Arts in Vancouver.

She was a Founding Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists in 1941.

She showed artwork as Nancy Nelles in the 1935 and 1936 B.C. Artists exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery. She was listed as Nancy Nelles Arkell in the 1944 and 1946 B.C. Artists exhibitions.

She married Trevor Fraser Arkell, an advertising manager, in Vancouver in 1938. Both of them were living in Vancouver. Nancy Gilman Arkell died in Vancouver in 1980 at the age of 62, she was widowed at the time.
