Henry Nesbitt (Harry) McEvoy

1828 - 1914

B.C. Society of Fine Arts

Henry Nesbitt (Harry) McEvoy exhibited in Vancouver in the B.C. Society of Fine Arts' debut 1909 First Annual Exhibition at the Dominion Hall in Vancouver.

An index card on file at the Vancouver Art Gallery library indicated that he flourished between 1864 and 1909, and noted that he is listed in Harper. Harper gives dates that conflict with McEvoy exhibiting his work in 1909 (i.e. died c1895) although this could be accounted for by the work being from a collection. Harper also states that he worked in Ontario, then moved to Detroit after 1895 where he died.
