Gerhardt Class sculpture: Centennial Fountain

This large sculpture and fountain was installed in 1971 on the plaza of the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Georgia Street. Unfortunately the fountain is no longer functional, various pieces have been removed from the sculpture's base, the plaque identifying the fountain and sculpture is missing, and the sphere in the middle of the sculpture is suffering from degradation. The installation is just one step away from being demolished, as was the George Norris "bridge marker" sculpture one block down the street on Georgia. First neglect, then hoarding, then demolition.
