Evergreen Building, West Pender Street

This interesting building, designed by Arthur Erickson, sits close to Coal Harbour, with its main views facing the harbour and the north shore mountains. The north facade is a series of setbacks, articulated in a zig-zag pattern on every second floor, with the alternating floors having a straight, flat facade. The ivy has already had at least one major pruning, the building itself was difficult to see a few years ago. I've been in meetings in a boardroom in this building, and the northern prospect and diffused light was lovely. For what it's worth, I have always found the Pender Street facade of this building to be dark and unpleasant looking.
