Robert Walter Amess

R.W. Amess was born in London, England, the son of artist J.H.O. Amess, and moved to BC with his family in 1911.

Amess married Agnes Margaret Burgess in Vancouver on May 18 1935, his occupation noted as "letter shop."

He exhibited work in the 1940 1st Annual Vancouver International Salon of Pictorial Photography exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery. The artist was living in Kamloops.

Amess died in Ladysmith in 1952 at the age of 45. His occupation was listed as "Book binder - Stationery Shipper." He had been living at Saltair, in Chemainus, for two years prior to his death.
