Miss Browni Wingate taught at the Canadian Institute of Associated Arts in Vancouver in the position of Instructress in Textile Design and Hand-Block Printing. The Prospectus for the 1938 school year provided the following information about her:
     "Graduated from Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland, in Textile Design. Studied Screen Printing at the Modeschule der Staat, Berlin, Germany, and later worked with Morton Sundour Co., Carlisle, Scotland."

BROWNI WINGATE.
"Daughter of Capt. Wingate of Victoria, and granddaughter of the famous Scottish artist, Sir Lawton Wingate, R.S.A., Miss Wingate recently returned from Europe where she specialized in commercial design, with particular emphasis on poster work, attaining considerable success in her chosen field. The exhibition under notice contains examples of Miss Wingate's current work."
