Vancouver Art Gallery Saturday Morning Classes

dates

Vancouver Art Gallery Saturday Morning Classes were very popular with children, and were held for a number of years.

The Group also put on exhibitions of their work. Information on the 1935 exhibition is unclear, with a review of the exhibition listed prior to the show's opening. It may be that the review's date is incorrect, or the exhibition opened before June 11.

The classes at that time were being taught by Charles H. Scott, with B.C. Binning as his assistant. In a fortuituous visit to the Gallery in 1935, Arthur Lismer met Binning and was impressed enough to recommend Binning be sent on an arts tour all across the continent.
