Violet Travis was an early exhibitor in Vancouver, showing with the B.C. Society of Fine Arts in at least one exhibition in 1916.

In 1916 she was living at 1110 Denman Street, with John H.D. Travis, who was employed as a clerk for the Provincial Assessor.
