For and about WOMEN

Photograph by Province Staff Photographer Huxley Darling

EAST MEETS WEST at the Art Gallery Monday. Gazing at J.W.G. Macdonald's painting "Bird and Environment," which had just arrived from Ontario, are three local members of the B.C. Society of Artists. J. Delisle Parker, Miss Margaret Williams and Miss Maud Sherman. Mr. Macdonald, who is a fellow member, now teaching at the Ontario College of Art, calls this particular picture an "automatic painting." Mr. Parker, artist and critic, is well known as "Palette" to readers of The Vancouver Daily Province.
