William Henry Probus Pleming was born in Vancouver in 1899. On April 28 1928 he married Dorothy Louise Laxton in Mission.

In 1934 he illustrated the book Legends of the Evergreen Coast, by George H. Griffin, published by Clark & Stuart in Vancouver, with a series of pen and ink drawings. He also apparently illustrated Tales the Totem Tells by Hugh Weatherby, also published by Clark & Stuart in Vancouver. A copy of this has not been viewed by the author.

Pleming died in Vancouver in 1989 at the age of 90.
