The 1910-11 City Directory lists him as "inspector of manual training, Education Department" with no address given. He was living at 1989 Waterloo Road in Saanich when he died in 1948 at the age of 82. He retired as a Teacher at the Normal School in 1931. He had been in BC for 48 years, and in Saanich for 34 years.
