Marjorie Darby was born in London, England. She was widowed from a Mr. Petrie when she married William Darby in Rossland on June 8 1935.

She had work in the Federation of Canadian Artists Third Traveling Exhibition in 1947.

She also exhibited artwork in the 1948 annual B.C. Artists exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery. She was living in Rossland.

Darby died in Victoria in 1992 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by her husband, her occupation was noted as homemaker.
