Edith M. Cuppage was born in London, England, but came to Victoria almost immediately, presumably with her parents, where she lived all her life.

She exhibited work with the Island Arts and Crafts Society from 1910 to 1934. She exhibited work at the Vancouver Art Gallery in the 1933 Vancouver Island Exhibition.

She died a widow in Victoria at the age of 87, occupation listed as "at home" living at 1034 Rockland Avenue.
