BRITISH COLUMBIA ARTISTS

EARLY MARITIME ARTISTS OF THE
PACIFIC NORTHWEST COAST 1741 - 1841

1984, by John Frazier Henry (retired banker)
Published by University of Washington Press, Seattle WA
ISBN 0-295-96128-7; 240 pages, hardcover; illust. colour/b&w
Includes extensive information, organized into sections: The Russian Voyages; The British Voyages; The French Voyages; The Spanish Voyages; The American Voyages. Appendix, notes, bibliography, index.

Technically, of course, none of these are "BC Artists" as such, because there was no British Columbia until after the time period covered by this book. The artwork mostly illustrates what would become BC, though, and is an excellent collection of historic images that were, wherever possible, selected because they were not commonly published previously.
