Victor Albert Long portrait

This portrait of Lieut.-Col. William Hart-McHarg was published in Museum Notes, Volume 4, Number 1, March 1929. An article by Major J.S. Matthews accompanied the portrait, which noted that Hart-McHarg had "led the famous Seventh, Vancouver's "Old Contemptibles," to the front." The portrait is signed and dated 1929. Hart-McHarg was klled in action on the Ypres Salient in WWI. He was an internationally renowned rifleman, at one point winning the world championship with a score of 220 out of 225.
