Painting by Alec Dalgleish

This small painting was created by Dalgleish while he was a student at the B.C. College of Arts. It is dated 1933, and the author believes it to be a portrait of BCCA Director Harry Tauber, an artist from Vienna, described by Jack Shadbolt as a large man with a beard, smoking a cigar, dressed like a monk, with one glass eye. The image here is a digital photograph of the original artwork, courtesy Judith Copithorne.
