The Academy of Useful Arts advertised in the April 1931 B.C. Teacher magazine:
     The Woman Who Sews Has Better Clothes!
         Every woman wants clothes - smart clothes whose lines
         are right; clothes different; distinctive clothes that
         express charm and individuality. Such clothes are hard to
         buy but can be easily obtained by making them yourself.
     You Can LEARN TO SEW AT SUMMER SCHOOL CLASSES
     Special One-month Course in July; also August. Enroll by

The Academy later advertised in the programme for the 5th Vancouver Folk Song and Dance Festival with Arts and Crafts Exhibition in 1937. The Academy was one of the Special Contributors to the 1937 Festival, with a display of smocking in the Main Lounge of the Hotel Vancouver.

The Academy's advertisement in the 1937 programme was as follows:
